Board 8 > Is the Arrowverse worth watching anymore?

I used to love these shows but after the last seasons of Flash and LoT ended I didn't really have the desire to go and watch the new seasons, since (especially Flash, maybe not so much LoT) I had read and seen some clips that led me to believe it had just gotten beyond awful. I also just think it kind of sucks that two of the best LoT characters are leaving. With another crossover event coming up I was thinking of catching up maybe, but is it worth it? Anyone here still watch them?

Superman & Lois was a great first season. The Flash was... The Flash. LoT with aliens has been fun, but I'm a few episodes behind. Batwoman had an iffy start but a decent second half to the season. Black Lightning had a good final season. Supergirl's final season's been alright, haven't watched the mid-season premiere yet though.

Hmmm at the very least I should try to finish up Black Lightning. That's not too big a commitment. And LoT's always reliable I suppose. I actually watched the Batwoman S2 premiere and really didn't like it. And I never cared about the Supergirl side of things past like mid-season 2.

I guess my biggest concern here was Flash... if it's the same ol' Flash, it's probably best I just skip it.

If it helps, Superman was entirely self contained except for one episode where Diggle appeared. They literally don't even mention Kara a single time.

Up until Crisis I had every Arrowverse show all under my belt... since then I'm still kept with The Flash and Legends, although the latter I haven't come back to this season.

I couldn't finish Batwoman's first season and it doesn't look like there's any reason to come back. Supergirl was honestly just never good... except honestly for Season 4 which started out kinda good, although I forget how it ended up.

Why am I still watching The Flash?... I really don't know at this point, it really has only gotten worse and worse every single season. Like Cicada from s5 is still my least favourite villain because he was just so absolutely frustrating and should've been dealt with so much faster... but the following season villains have absolutely no presence whatsoever. The recent season in particular is so loaded with filler, let alone catching up on season 6 the first few eps due to COVID. In the end it's hard to say Godspeed even had an arc at all. Also omg that final battle what even was it, without spoiling The Flash now seems to just treat the Speedforce as magic that lets you construct any tool to fight with.

show really started going downhill right from "we are the flash", Iris taking the role of leader of the team never made any sense and she's only expanded further beyond that

also screw Chillblaine, why you gotta give Frost such a terrible arc of filler this season

I cant comment on all of them, but Flash is absolutely not worth following anymore. A lot of the regulars left and S7 has been almost entirely fucking terrible. I hear the last little arc is the best part of it, but god the writing is so bad it makes Nick Jr shows look like they were written by the greatest author of all time lol

Eh...It sounds like you've stuck with them all a little more than I did. Every last one of them seemed to have a moment for me where I asked myself why I was continuing to watch them. I've got a high tolerance for cheese, but there's only so much CWitis I can stand.

I feel like I've made the right call after reading through the topic.

In a way you're sorta right, they just became part of my weekly routines and even when they weren't technically the best there was still a relaxing and comforting charm to them.

The CW curse is so real. So many of these shows start off fantastic and turn into shitty teen soap opera dramas that make you feel embarrassed even watching them :(

Even LoT hasn't been that great this season. Without a top to bottom revamp I'd have to say the Arrowverse just isn't worth watching anymore. It's sad, the Arrowverse used to be the pinnacle of superhero TV.

I fell behind with Flash and LoT so I'm just going to watch them on Netflix soon but I haven't heard great things. I've heard Superman and Lois is actually legit good though

Wait til S2 finishes and Superman & Lois will get the CW curse too probably. Arrowverse was such a great universe, but the writing just kept getting worse and worse in most of the shows. So many of the stars worth watching the shows for have left by now for the shows that havent just ended already. Flash S8 is gonna be a wasteland

Arrow hasn't been worth watching in years.
