Ive got a friend who is working on a project with another employee that involves a PowerPoint presentation with speech for 60 mins. They have to talk about how they worked together to complete a sale and whatever else comes with the job in relation to the sale.

They both are splitting up the presentation and my friend is the one going first so they only have to speak for 30 mins. My friend is stressing out hardcore because the presentation is in a little over a month and the partner isnt putting any effort into it. The partner doesnt have any ideas to contribute and is avoiding my friend whenever they try to contact the partner to talk about it.

The partner has been working in sales for 25 years so you would expect better out of them. Ive tried to explain to my friend that they should only worry about what they are going to talk about for their 30 mins and let the partner finish up their part of the PowerPoint presentation. My friend is worried about the flow and says thats not how it works. Im puzzled cause all my friend has to do is their half of the PowerPoint presentation and then send it over to the partner to finish their half. If the partner cant make it flow then its not my friends problem.

What should my friend do in this situation? The two of them have to work together daily and they get along as a veteran and new hire in the business. So outside of this project coming up, the two of them are cool with each other.

-Friend should make their half as complete as possible
-When they do send their half over to the partner, make sure it's via email with a higher up CCed so there's no "partner plagiarizes the entire thing and it looks like your friend is the one that did nothing".
-If it gets very close to the deadline with no response from the partner, they should contact a higher up and express their concerns that the presentation isn't going to get done in time, and efforts to make contact aren't working (the only attitude/emotion here should be concern for the presentation itself. Don't bring anger or personal feelings into it or they're way more likely to get brushed off)

A lot of filler. The job entails calling the client and sending the sales partner to that client or the partner asking my friend to call around to certain clients for them.

Ill try passing this along. I dont think my friend will go for it though since theyre too nice. I think my friend will end up doing the entire PowerPoint if its gets too close to the dead line and I feel bad theyre stressing out so much over it.

Okay, that's my fault. I stated "would" when I meant "should".
