I guess I'll start with the good:

-Combat is pretty fun and I loved using the death glove skills

-The story was a blast like always

-Lots of enemy variety (I think the most in any NMH game) and fun boss fights

-The final boss fight literally being a Smash Bros. fight was fucking AMAZING lol

The bad >_>

-There being no actual levels SUCKS! Just going to random fights on the map before just showing up to the boss is lame. The levels themselves sometimes add to the bosses' personalities and there is none of that there. Hell, the final level is supposed to be in some giant tower, but it's literally just a tiny hallway with 10 enemies and then you're at the final boss. Seriously WTF!

-The overworld is literally worse than 1's lol. There's 5 hubs but all them lack any interactivity. The side missions and shops are just random markers plopped in random places. 1 at least put unique shops all over the map. But here's it's just the hotel and Beefhead and that's it. No job center to do the side jobs, no Naomi's lab, no wrestling ring or gym. Everything is just in the basement of the hotel. Cuz of this all the overworld locations feel like they lack any charm. The only thing to do in them is find random collectables.

-Speaking of Naomi, her turning herself into a tree and getting rid of her big ol' GILF titties sucks lol

-Shinobu and Bad Girl are good characters but they don't do anything in the entire story. They just sit on the sidelines the whole time until the final boss, where they just take a swipe at him and that's it

-This one is a nitpick but I miss the gun enemies >_> Travis deflecting a machine gun with his beam katana always felt cool as fuck. It's a shame there's no gun enemies here.

-I know this is the final game in the series but the ending was confusing and left me with a lot of questions like what did Travis want to talk to Sylvia about, how the fuck did Travis come back to life, what was up with his kids from the future, what was up with Henry

Overall I did like it but it felt unfinished with the lack of levels and bad overworld >_> Plus the ending was kinda weird (unless I didn't get the True Ending or some shit)

Thoughts?

It's also weird how you don't even fight half the alien bosses >_>

Black Night Direction is replaced with Native Dancer
Vanishing Point is replaced with Kimmy Love
Velvet Chair Girl is (kinda) replaced with Ohma
Sniping Lee is replaced with Mass Produced Destroyman
Paradox Bandit is replaced with Henry Cooldown

Maybe it's because I just recently replayed killer7 and was particularly receptive to Suda51 weirdness, but NMH3 might be my favourite of the series. I did kinda miss the levels, but tbh they were mostly featureless mazes anyway, though you're right that occasionally they added to the boss fight, most of the time they were just a tedious obstacle.

idk, the game just feels kinda unfinished with the lack of levels and bland overworld >_> I liked it, but the 1st game is still the best one imo

Avoiding clicking the spoiler tags (appreciate them being there) but yeah, so far I am a bit disappointed in the lack of levels but really enjoying the combat and story. The graphics were also weird, but the relatively stable framerate made it easy to get used to.

So far made it to Ranking 7, am severely curious who that assassin from the supposed future is. Travis's descendant? Travis himself somehow since he couldn't kill him?

Just beat it, huge disappointment for me. The combat just wasnt fun. The enemy variety was cool but a couple of the enemies were a total pain to fight, the shield one and the teleporting one sucked the fun outta any encounter. The bosses for the most part were way too simple I feel and some I just cheesed with some death reel effects. I miss being able to alternate between heavy and light attacks, it seems like a small complaint but being able to extend your combos like that and then ending it with a melee attack like a drop kick felt awesome. I think my favorite thing about this game was the beam katana visual effects lol sucks that theres only one available!!!
