I like the new shevles, but I like the old counters

While the shelves looks nice and make it easy to find anything, cabinets would probably be better, tbh

The new light is fine

I like the blue, but maybe the rounded counter over the trash was a little better

I was wondering that, but it looks like they just have a toaster over Unless its hidden somewhere, if they replaced the dishwasher with an oven

Shouldve had proper cabinets on the back wall instead of more shelves.

The counters and cupboards needed to be changed but this was the wrong choice.

No refrigerator?

Honestly I noticed the missing oven but I assumed there's another section of the kitchen out of the frame of the photo. Figure the range and the fridge are there, just out of the shot

That's kind of a small picture so it's hard to make out. I don't know if there even is a microwave in the new one. But in the old one it looks like there's either a vent hood or microwave mount above the sink, which is peculiar. Or maybe it's just a light since there's a light there now.

I hate when people have a decent sense of style but a completely inability to think practically. The lack of cabinets and (apparent) lack of dishwasher are making me mad

Yeah I thought we were just supposed to find what's weird about the new one. The old one is definitely weird too but the new one piles on the questionable design

Yeah. When I didnt see the range, I figured it wasnt the whole kitchen, and they just showed the part they changed

Honestly I thought the same, but even if that's true, it would be strange how far away those would be from the rest of the kitchen.

The kitchen feels like a kitchen for people that don't cook.

I mean it is weird? There isn't much counter space near the stove and going back and forth to drop dirty dishes at the sink would be annoying.

I figure the counter near the stove is for stuff in the stove or on the oven. In most cases (like normal meals), you probably wouldnt need much space. It could be a little annoying in some cases, but I dont see it as too weird or anything

Nah, that is infinitely better. Easy access from the stove top to the dining room. This is a pretty ideal use of the space to me.

Lol wtf the stove is just floating? I've never seen one that wasn't backed into a wall. Did they take a wall out? I can't tell what the thing above it is but might have been a vent hood at one time

It depends on a few things. Like if its gas or electric. And where the hook-ups are. My friend has one thats like that. Like mine, his pipe comes up from the floor. And just on the edge of the kitchen between the kitchen and dining room. So, it kind of looks similar

I'm not asking how they did it, I'm asking why. There's a reason why stoves usually go in front of walls and they call the wall behind it "backsplash". I guess this is a good setup if you like grease on your living room floor and enjoy seeing the back of an oven

Edit: Okay it looks like the counter extends back enough that you wouldn't see the back, but the lack of backsplash is not great

It depends. It still looks nice. And depending on how they use it (like if they mostly use the over, or cover things on the stovetop), it might not be as big an issue We havent really had an issues at my friends house yet

Thats true. I think that was why we only ever used it at night at my friends house. And usually only outside, for some reason
