Not even gonna lie Ive seen them live at the house of blues in SD. They came around to a lot of events too especially super cross when it was still going on at Qualcomm. while I wouldnt listen to it now it was cool for the time. Most of them are pretty chill, at least Jonny Richter and D-loc were super chill. On topic pina coladas or whatever its called. Over played and a terrible message in general along. So many times in my life ive run into some kind of cringe moment with that song. It really started in high school. This one lame ass kid kept trying to get people to sing along to it by bashing on his desk with a pencil. Just slap slap pencil over and fucking over for like 5 minutes. All hunched over and really super into it. Looking around for others to join in that never would. I felt bad for the kid because of how awkward and cringy it was. Flash to about 6 months later and we had a "free day" where the sub was just playing music over a radio, and that fucking song came on. Ol Freddie 2.0 got all crazy hyped and started up again. Straining and being as loud as possible. Naturally nobody joined in, but that didnt deter him this time. He mouthed along to every word in like, a super a super serious and focused way. Then when it got to We Are The Champions, he changed to throwing his arms in the air and turning back in forth while lip syncing. Pretending to cheer and celebrating the entire time. It was fucking awful and every was kinda creeped out. They werent even laughing at this kid, they were just looking at him like O_o. Ever since that day, i have associated that song with pure, distilled cringe.
