I'm Canadian and have voted NDP for the past ~15 years. I'd only vote Liberal if I had to prevent a Conservative win in my district.

Also ndp like last time around.

Sadly I'm almost convinced were getting a conservative government. A minority most likely and most preferably if that's how its gonna be.

Anyway I live in a red-orange swing district where the Tories regularly come in third and haven't won since the 1930s so I feel pretty safe in voting for either the NDP or the Libs.

On the one hand, the NDP is closer to my end of the spectrum, politically.

On the other, Singh has pretty bad political instincts. He's done a pretty bad job running the party so far and seems more concerned appealing to twitter and young GTA progressives than to the NDP's traditional blue-collar organized labor base. His little performance celebrating the party losing half its seats on election night 2019 still annoys me, lol.

It's already unlikely he'd win but even if by some miracle the party won a plurality then it's unlikely he'd be a very effective PM.

The Liberals aren't quite as far left as I'd like but Trudeau's done a pretty good job with the pandemic response and vaccination shit. Even prior to the pandemic they tended to run a pretty organized government. The next few years are gonna be pretty wacky globally so it might behoove us to have a stable government in place.

I dunno, we'll see how the debates go

Trudeau has been medicore at best and I had high hopes for him once upon a time.

Even mulcair (former ndp leader for non canadians) gave otoole the win in the French debate. Justin willfully shot himself in the foot just calling this election. Fuckin brain dead move and only a total idiot wouldn't have realized that.

Lol I've had the opposite journey with him. I thought he was a stupid fop when he got the Liberal leadership and won in 2015 but the way he navigated all the NAFTA shit and other foreign shit, then the way COVID was handled swung me around on him.

He's definitely his father's son. Inherited his political instincts (for better and worse lol)

I would have loved to see what Pierre would have said about the crowds justin has been seeing turn up and try to / sometimes succeed at shutting his events down. Especially the ones who threw gravel at him.

They started the process and got the other major parties involved in a bunch of committees, there was no consensus, no system polled among the public had more than 50% approval, so everyone just kinda tossed their hands up and said fuck it.

I got a little door hanging info card thing about it. not sure what the average voter can really do about it though since even when it actually was an issue addressed by the parties themselves, thee promise was promptly forgotten about immediately after the election so my trust level for any party to make any changes to it as at an all time low

Same deal except for its the local ndp candidate. And he's gonna win again so thats always nice.

Only bad thing I've ever heard about him was a letter to a news site some lady wrote accusing him of ignoring her campaign for cystic fibrosis needs but it was a weird letter that repeatedly said "I was not harassing him or harassing anyone at his office! There was definitely no harassment!" And she kept saying it for no reason so I think she's probly crazy.
