I was fortunate enough to get the 3080ti in the EVGA queue and with a 30% off coupon to boot (1k for this card, hell yes). I had recently upgraded to a ryzen 5800x as well. So two fucking space heaters to put it mildly. And I have a case that, while looks nice, is not good for air intake. It's the phanteks P300. They decided to make the front panel solid metal with two tiny diagonal slits on the top and bottom. Luckily they sell a mesh version that's compatible with my case so I didn't have to buy a brand new case. Replaced the cpu cooler and all the case fans with noctuas. Then I undervolted it slightly with a slight overclock.

Finally got my temp under load from 83C+ to low 70s without having to have an aggressive fan curve that sounds like a jet engine. And it performs better than stock now. Feels good.

The only thing I haven't been able to fix is that the case has a glass side panel, and the gpu is such a monster that the heat sink is probably 2cm away from the glass, so that tends to heat up even with good air flow. Removing the side panel lowers the temps so much more, to 70C or less, but then it's completely exposed. Anyone have any good solutions for that? Either way, I'm pretty happy with where I landed it with, but damn I had to tinker quite a bit.

Unless you are talking about the CPU, under 85 is within spec for that GPU.

Those were for the GPU. My CPU temps are about 50C. That's good to hear at least.
