A certain long-time user in that locked topic literally just posted Nazi garbage about others not being people. This place is devolving into mass hysteria and consequently the dehumanization of 100+ million Americans, let alone hundreds of millions of people in other countries. And I see some other users basically paying lip service to these types of ideas in other threads. The fuck is going on here?

Every topic about this stuff goes the way that topic did and it is getting worse, with attention seekers increasingly just trying to one-up each other on how morally righteous and good they outwardly appear and how bad others are. Time to put an end to this shit by locking those topics or just straight up deleting them. Cool things down for at least a few months. I recommend immediately locking/banning any topics pertaining to mandates or vaccines. A note can be added at the end of the locked topic or moderation advising people to consult with their primary care physician. If you're in agreement, you could sticky an announcement thread mentioning the temporary topicality policy change so that everyone knows.
