Should Democrats reuse the door-to-door approach for attracting voters despite the ongoing pandemic?

One crucial factor that cost Democrats voters in 2020 was their lack of a cohesive ground game thanks to the pandemic. At the time, Democrats restricted themselves to virtual canvassing only to resort to the physical approach at the last minute. I've pointed out before that the GOP registered more voters by using Obama's playbook which made heavy use of door-to-door canvassing, and we all know people are more likely to be persuaded with a real person in front of them instead of simply dropping literature. While folks might think it's too risk to use this method during an ongoing pandemic, it's still possible to implement by wearing masks and doing social distancing. If Democrats are to survive both the 2020 midterms and the 2024 elections, they need to reach out to their voters both physically and virtually through fear which is a surprisingly good motivator as proven by the California recall.

No. Especially now. Biden has taken a pretty huge hit in the approval ratings lately. You probably don't want to remind people of that from a strategic point of view

You probably don't want Democrats to win then.

I'm indifferent honestly. It never seems to matter who is in charge when the outcome is the same. But from a strategic point of view, no wouldn't be the time to do what you are suggesting is all I'm pointing out

I can't help but pity people who believe both sides are roughly the same. You'd have to be blind to claim that Democrats are absolutely the same as Republicans.

I don't claim they are absolutely the same. I can say without doubt that my personal life has been better under republican leadership than democratic ones which is probably due to economic policy but I still have enough money either way to not particularly care.
