If anything I am expecting the chapters to get longer as the game goes on.

It's pretty clear at this point he's aiming on making this a full like 30+ hour RPG.

We gained a lot of experience working on this chapter. I believe it's the biggest chapter in the entire game in many ways. The cutscene count is the largest, the story involves many characters, and there are many other aspects that made it a challenging chapter

If 2 is the biggest & has the most cutscenes, I find it hard to believe any other single chapter would match it in length--or at least, I wouldn't expect it.

I'd be quite happy to be proven wrong of course and anything could happen by the time it's finished, but that feels like he's trying to temper everyone's expectations a bit.

I sort of don't know what to expect from that - it might be true that chapter 2 will be the longest chapter, but that's something that could just also end up not being correct when all is said and done. My expectations are tempered as far as how much of the game is left - I don't think we'll be disappointed by the end product but I also do expect that it won't be five chapters all of chapter 2 length.

It really depends honestly, story/cutscene length doesn't always equate to how long each chapter is. I expect there will be more things done with the recruit system, more chances to talk to the town NPCs, more secrets to find, more of those optional combat challenges, and just more gameplay in general.

So there might be less 'cutscenes' and more 'gameplay', but 2 would still be the biggest in terms of amount of cutscenes and dialogue.

Every dev who ships swears that the next game will be smaller. It's never true.

So this was great! I'm starting to get invested in this as juch as Undertale.

Queen was...INCREDIBLE. Every scene with her is so good. I doubt she has nearly a big a role to play in the future, but we'll see. Noelle was a great addition (well, as a major character), and I will definitely be disappointed if she ends relegated to mostly "the big character for chapter 2" in future chapters. I don't think that will be the case, but fingers crossed.

The music is the star as always, of course. I want to hear a full version of Don't forget more than I want the damn Endwalker theme at this point.

I really doubt Noelle is just going to be a chapter 2 only focus. She has way too many plot hooks linked to her. She is also one of the only ones to get hyped up by Gaster(?) in the intro if you put her name in

I attempted Jevil 2 hours on launch and gave up.

Just did a new Chapter 1 completion run for my save file and beat him after 3 attempts going in blind.

Guess I'm just that much better with an analog stick than a keyboard!

Noelle having a whole alternate route where you basically manipulate her into being okay with killing makes me doubt she'll only be important in chapter 2. If nothing else we'll see the consequences of it, since she kills off that budget Falco guy

Overall I feel like this chapter was pretty padded and aimless. I'm curious how the next ones will be, because usually things just get longer and longer. It's gonna be a massive game by the end.

Decided to slam out Chapter 2 today from my completed chapter 2 save. First time fighting Neo Spamton. Certainly a lot easier than Jevil, did it in one, though I liked it a lot more. I love when they throw dialogue that implies Kris' emotions even when they don't show up on screen at all. "Kris, are you OK? You're yelling!"

I liked that the optional boss was basically the challenge level of one of the "normal" pacifist bosses from undertale, rather than the more challenging/frutrating jevil fight

interesting to read about the "bad route."
