There are actors who are sort of known for being bad like Nicholas Cage, but even he is capable of putting in halfway decent performances in stuff like Matchstick Men, The Weatherman, Raising Arizona, etc. John Travolta has arguably never been good in anything apart from roles like Grease or Saturday Night Fever where he can just dance and sort of shmooze his way through. I never minded him in Pulp Fiction but he doesnt exactly stand out from the crowd (which to be fair would a tall task given that the crowd consisted of guys like Samuel L Jackson, Bruce Willis, Tim Roth and Harvey Keitel).
