The Pats D has played pretty well, all things considered. If their offense had even a shred of competency to it this could have been a winnable game.

The Ravens are winning the AFC this year. No question. The NFL is absolutely terrible at showing who their handpicked ref team is every year, and in the last 7 days there is no debate anymore, its the Ravens.

So delay of game is 5 yards and a 10 second run off. Game over. And it wasnt even a close DoG either. It as blatant. This wasnt even a judgment call, this is a procedural call. Straight up inexcusable. And its not like it was their only failure that game, or even that drive.

And then you factor the railroading of the Chiefs. Thats the second worst called game last week, and I cant even fathom someone will top them for #1 this week.

Still the game is over, only instead of 100% its like 98.7

Any time that happens I just assume the TV clock is mismatched to the game/play clock

I skimmed the official rulebook and I'm not sure you even need to get out of bounds in that situation. The rulebook is written kind of dumb (IMO) and basically in a "Clock starts on snap unless..." and then a list of scenarios (which like... is actually more cases than not lol). No mention of a dead ball that I can see and that's what you have when someone other than the fumbling player recovers the fumble under 2 minutes.

But getting out of bounds would make it a lock because that is covered as a "if under five minutes, clock starts on snap" thing.

The only reason I didn't take the Broncos -10.5 was because the Jets tend to have like 3-4 games where they somehow stay in a game and you just never know when it'll happen so that was a bit too many points for me to feel truly comfortable.

But they might actually be worse this year so maybe they have lost even that ability.

Btw what I see is if the bucs are healthy this would be a very good game tbh. I am not discouraged by this loss just because a lot of the bad stuff is backups not playing well and can be coached up.

I haven't seen some of the other 0-3 teams but it's hard to imagine a team worse than this Jets team.

I said it before but they need to just draft only OL next draft. It'd literally be a more productive draft than whatever they end up doing. I'd give the green light for the front seven too but that'd end up being a cursed monkey paw and they'd somehow pick the worst of both if allowed that.
