Depends on their usefulness to the world, if bees were endangered we should abolutely save them, but if it's mosquitoes, then fuck them.

Namely, all of them.

No, we should let nature run it's course

The thing is, usually it's not just nature running its course. It's humans destroying their habitat. That's why the protections exist, so that there are restrictions on destroying sensitive habitats.

I guess, but there are definitely examples of animals that just don't have what it takes. Look at pandas. They have an extremely limited food source, they don't produce a ton of offspring. Hell, they even have a hard time breeding without human assistance.

Humans are animals and a part of nature as much everything else. Along with what we do. And as with most other animals throughout history they either learn to adapt or die. As have 99% of all other species that have existed.

Yes but part of humans adapting is understanding things like keystone species and biodiversity and how protecting them relates to our continued survival.

Some people argue that is natural though.

I believe they should be protected, but I'm just pointing it out

Yes, it is "natural" in the sense that humans are part of nature.

But in the context of this topic "nature" clearly means outside of the influence of people.

We should absolutely do what we can to maintain a rich biodiversity on the planet. Sure humans wrecking the planet could be considered "natural" but that does mean it is good or benefits anyone in the long run.

yes, especially when it's our fault. I think most land should be reclaimed as natural habitats

Only the ones becoming extinct due to human activity. But if it's natural, just let it run its course.

It is natural. However you can say that we are "cheating" because we're sentient. But then again, didn't we also become sentient as part of the natural process?
