I'm back. I'm sure you remember that I'm not a big fan of the whole "The more things change the more they stay the same" thing. Well, the past week and a half has kind of been that. For me. My life and stuff has been going pretty decent since the last part (that I wrote?) I'll get to that in a minute.

It's time for my "Top Ten" list of games that I'm glad I got to play. No pressure or anything. In no particular order, I'm going to list off my Top Ten games I've gotten to play so far on my journey through the Gamecube.

Top Ten Games I'm Glad I Got To Play

1. Metroid Prime 2: Echoes So many games are better when played after a certain amount of time has gone by. I don't mean that as some kind of criticism. Metroid is one of those games that will feel better and more intense after a bit of time has passed and the feelings you've developed for the enemies and characters you've fought against and developed an emotional attachment to just start to fade. If you've been playing the original, you won't feel at all like this game is holding any secrets or anything. You'll already know pretty much everything. That's not a knock on the game. It's just how my feelings have changed. So is there really anything for me to do when I reach the end of this game? I'm kind of afraid to find out.

2. Star Wars Episode 3: Revenge of the Sith If you haven't already guessed, this game will feature the Battle of Yavin, the fall of the Empire, and the birth of the Rebel Alliance. It's also the movie that starts the whole series. My wife and I are both into Star Wars and have been for years. Since we both pretty much grew up on it, we were both quite excited to have this game on our Gamecube. Our expectations were very high, and we were not disappointed. What I loved about the movie was that it started everything from the very beginning. We have a pretty deep history with Star Wars, and this game was a chance to go back and find out what happened right from the very start. What we learned was that The Emperor's power is great, and that there are many Jedi who are willing to help the Rebellion. It was good seeing that in such an exciting environment. It almost feels like I was watching the movie for the first time, and I loved it.

3. Shadow of the Colossus I've played this game since it came out, and it's a game that I keep coming back to. It's one that I can't get enough of. Each one of the colossi that you fight and defeat is so different from the last, and each one is so beautiful. I think one of the things I like most about this game is that the environment is so well done. There is so much to see and do in the land where the colossi live and fight. Sometimes it's hard to get through it, but that's the beauty of this game.

4. Crash Bandicoot This is one of the first games we played together. Ever since then, I've enjoyed playing it again and again. The music is so catchy, and the game is full of nostalgia for the old days of gaming. There are so many levels to explore, and I can never get enough of them. My favorite has always been level 2, the Ice Cap level.

5. Super Mario Sunshine I've played this game before, but I was too young to really appreciate it. Mario's new venture to the tropics didn't turn out as I expected. Still, the game is fun and really good. The only problem is that you have to get the GameCube controller, which costs $60. I'm not sure I would have played it as much as I did if the controller wasn't so expensive.

6. Pikmin I like the game, but the controls are terrible and the bosses can be a bit hard to defeat. You need to save up your energy at times to be able to finish a level. There is a lot of variety in this game, which is fun.

7. Golden Sun Another game from the GameCube. The only game I've ever been able to beat was golden sun, and the other two have not really been able to keep up with my level. This is a great game, with a good story, well designed levels, and some really cool items.

8. Xenogears After playing through Golden Sun, I was really craving for more RPGs. Xenogears filled the void and really pleased me. This game really takes you on an amazing journey, which is one of the reasons why it has remained my favorite RPG.

9. Chrono Trigger Probably the most well-known RPG ever made. It tells the story of a boy who wishes to save his world from being destroyed. It starts out fairly simple, but then gets really tough. At the end, you are left with a nice ending. I never get tired of playing this game. I'd give it a 10/10.

10. Xenosaga I was really excited to play this game and see what all the hype was about. After playing through the game a few times, I realized I wasn't really into it. It was okay, but a letdown. I'll give it a 4/10.

I don't really know what else to say other than I really like Mario, Zelda, RPGs, and Action RPGs. They really get me. If I remember right, I played Golden Sun for about a year before I had a real chance to play Chrono Trigger. Chrono Trigger was way too easy. It was way too similar to Golden Sun. I was actually planning on playing Golden Sun 2, but I never got to play it. If you ever play it, try not to just rush through the game. Take your time and enjoy it.
