She was filmed by author, Frederick Joseph after an altercation at a dog park. She said "I had not intended any racial undertones in my comments whatsoever" This comes after Joseph was CRITICIZED for using his platform to "unethically" in an attempt to identify her and secure punishment Nikole Hannah-Jones was one of those who is most influential in the anti-racism voices in teh US said "This....doesn't feel right. This doesn't sit right with me and does not seem like an ethical use of one's platform" But Johnson defended his actions saying it was unfortunate that Sarley lost her job but said this needed to be brought up on an important conversation about accountability Sarley says she absolutely accepted responsbility for how she could have handled it differently but wanted to share her version claiming she seen a dog at her local park get into "several aggressive altercation with other dogs" and said as owners of this dog were leaving, she suggested they keep a handle on their dog while visiting this particular park When she referenced back to your hood, she only referred to another dog park outside this area and said "I have no intended racial undertones in my comments. It was an unstated rule that owners should take their dogs away if they're acting aggresively. I fully understand how my words could have been interpreted and i deeply wish i had chosen them more carefully. A brief and thoughtless moment in my life has now led to nationwide outrage and hurt. For that, i am sorry" She can be seen giving the middle finger to the camera and attempted to knock it away but insist she is not racist because she lived in NYC for a DECADE and that the dog park is extremely diverse and something she truly loves about the city and never wanted to insert pain on someone as she hopes she can find a peaceful resolution to this But it was too little too late as Sarley was fired from her job at a software company following the incident and she didn't comment further He posted the footage on twitter which started an online campaign to identify her which also put him on the hot seat for going too far.
