I currently cant really research this for the next week since Im working so much. So I figured I would ask here and check back later to see what its about. Is it real? How helpful is it? Can Antivaxxers just take this pill? Will this be the breakthrough we need to move on from this pandemic?

It's a new breakthrough treatment that prevents severe disease.
If we're talking about the same thing. Seems promising.

Will antivaxxers take it? Why would they trust one thing but not the other? Hospitals will probably pump the stuff directly into their veins once they arrive in the ICU regardless.

They'll probably end up like that old woman on house... the one who wants house to give her something for her cat allergies, but doesn't want to take steroids/inhaler or pills.

supposedly cuts serious illness in half. It will be effective for people who do get covid.

I heard its essentially a two dose pill like the tamiflu stuff is for the Flu.

Anyway I do think some antivaxxers might take it but we need to attack the misinformation right away and not let it spiral out of control.

its an antiviral that works on coronavirus, it interrupts the function of viral RNA-polymerase and fucks up the growth of the virus.

its great they have a new antiviral, but the thing about antivirals is that they run the risk of abuse just like antibacterials. if they come onto the market, and dumbasses buy them in bulk and start their own half-ass treatment regiment, we're gonna see covid quickly mutate to ignore them.

something like this is great for hospital use, but because people are fucking stupid you'll see it sold online.
