The mistake is putting too much value in this stuff period. It's not about swinging whichever way you think is more PC or is more funny to make others feel.insecure. All you're doing is putting value into things that matter very little compared to how much respect the person shows you and how fun they make the time with them. Real ones keep them options completely open
