Are you surprised it did better than the first?

Sony obviously has a winner on its hands with the movie and made a good decision by pushing the film to the opening of October but they expected only a 40 million opening considering sequels tend to gross less than it's predecessor. The first Venom grossed 80M so it is a big improvement and even surpassed Black Widow in it's opening weekend with 90.1M Audiences came out in droves and based on exit polling loved the sequel despite it's short running time and after the post credit scenes, fans are anticipating where this movie is going to go. Not at all. Even I went out of my way to see it.

I went to see Shang Chi yesterday and I heard one of the employees telling someone that the next Venom showtime was sold out. So not that surprised that it did well. There were a lot of people out this weekend.
It's got Carnage, which is awesome (is this the first movie with carnage? I know he was in the cartoons). I want to see it, but I'm not trying to sit in a packed theater, so I'll wait lol. --- PSN - NoxObscuras Z490 | i9-10900K | EVGA 3080 FTW3 Ultra | 32GB DDR4 3600 | 4TB SSD ... Copied to Clipboard!
