Makes things complicated though: I understand I've always internally seen myself as a girl, even if I tried to deny it, but I have (and still do, for the time being) look like a big ole' dude. So when women would treat me like a man, that would really hurt. My therapist says people who know you can always kind of tell. So women could always kind of tell I was different from (other, from their perspective) dudes, and maybe not in a sexy way! Plus, you know...it's hard enough to compose yourself around some one attractive. Now imagine you're also deeply jealous of how attractive they are and that makes you even more insecure. When I finally encountered and interacted with lesbians at my current job(I had never really known lesbians prior), I was amazed by how easily I seemed to get along with them. I get choked up at the possibilities, if I'm being honest. I never dared imagine anyone could change their voice so completely.
