but at least the Cowboys and Titans both won so that's something

Bah, kind of a bummer for the Braves to lose after opening with a grand slam. Would've been nice to win it at home, but we've still got two more chances to close it out. I do still feel good about our chances, but ask me again if it comes down to a game 7...!

Update that no one cares about: Got the Bad Ending in Caligula 2 (on purpose because it's obvious) and I'm really enjoying the game. Like it being a budget title still shows a lot but I think it's a pretty noticeable upgrade on Overdose. Some of the Character Episodes are like... legit 10/10 material and really impressed me.

In better news, that new (new) Mario Party is really good. Been playing with some friends and siblings and its a lot of fun. Online has worked shockingly well and it seems like they finally did right by the series. Game just needs a few more boards added.

I've always just assumed baseball worked on a gentleman's agreement regarding actually touching the bases/"in the neighborhood" because I swear there are plenty of times where I'm thinking, "uh i'd actually like to see a replay there" but no one seems to care.

Out of interest, what is your opinion on leaning harder on technology to do an umpire's job? My understanding is a lot of fans don't like it because it removes the human element from the game.

I'm all for it. "The human element" is just code for getting stuff wrong. If you have the technology to get more stuff correct, then do it.

And the Atlanta Braves win the World Series for the first time since 1995, when I was 9 years old. I remember that win well because David Justice was my favorite Brave growing up, and he hit a solo HR for the only run of the game in the clinching game to win 1-0.

That title run also distinctly stands out to me because my parents got divorced at the beginning of that year. Some of my earliest memories are of watching the Braves with my dad, so that championship made a bad year a little better.

It's also weird to think that I'm about to become a father myself as I've watched them win this one. Maybe the baby will be a good luck charm for all my teams if they're already winning titles while he/she is still in the womb...!

that's exactly why a lot of soccer fans didn't want VAR to be introduced.

fortunately, they implemented it anyway.

this is a really sweet story! and yeah my parents weren't big on sports but i remember them telling about how good the braves were back then. a good early lesson that yankees suck too.
