https://www.nbcnews.com/news/us-news/man-accused-killing-3-wanted-confront-pharmacist-brother-over-covid-n1280977

A Maryland man accused of killing his pharmacist brother and two other people had complained that he believed his brother was harming people with the Covid-19 vaccines, court documents say.
The man, Jeffrey Burnham, 46, was arrested Friday in the killings of his brother, his sister-in-law and another woman who were slain in two communities more than 100 miles apart, police said.
Brian Robinette, 58, and Kelly Sue Robinette, 57, were found fatally shot last Thursday in their home in Ellicott City, near Baltimore, police said. Rebecca Reynolds, 83, had been found dead the night before in Cumberland, and her car was stolen, police have said.
Burnham, who lives in Cumberland, was arrested Friday in West Virginia.
He faces multiple counts of murder and is being held without bail in Allegany County, where Cumberland is, records show.

I sympathize with your displeasure about this man's actions, but mob style revenge murder isn't how a civilized society deals with criminals.

Some people cannot be rehabilitated.

fucking scumbag. I legit saw my brother as an enemy years ago and was ready to cut him out of my life and even threatened violence at one point but I would have never followed through and that was before he got his diagnosis and now I'm looking to him thinking I have the same issue (would make more sense if we were genetically related but we aren't. Stioll does make sense though). I can't imagine what life would be like if I had actually cut him off let alone done anything fucked up to him...

My first reaction was actually "what an asshole." I'm opposed to the death penalty and double opposed to lynch mobs. They haven't historically been a source of justice. And this guy looks like he's going to get what's coming to him without having to get extrajudicial.

If you're waiting for me to defend his behavior it's going to be a long wait; anti vax is idiocy and murder is a crime.

This is the sort of end result you get when you allow anti vaxxer nonsense to be spread. Three people lost their lives because a guy filled with hatred for something he was told to hate decided to take things into his own hands.

I've been trying to be more optimistic and forgiving lately so I'm ready to jump blindly all in on the "but this person can change" train but at the same time... I don't know any anti-vaxxers in person. Thankfully, all friends and family are very pro-vax, and a few have questionable other views... and a few have had covid and didn't take it seriously at the time only to be like "fuck this is real" and go all in on vaccines after the fact (rightfully) so I guess I am really fortunate in that sense.

It's not even about that. I do not believe we should be dealing death as punishment. It cheapens life. This guy is clearly the worst type of person, but if I don't hold to my principles about the worst of humanity I will be a hypocrite applying it to the best. It's not a principle because it's easy to follow, it's a principle because I believe in it even when it's hard to.

This topic is better used to talk about why we should be pushing back against anti vax nonsense more anyway.

Remind me how anti-vaxxers have a mere difference of opinion and we need to stay respectful

When politicians and pundits whip their supporters into a frenzy and spread these narratives, it is inevitable that some will take it to this extreme. They're all complicit in this crime.

You can't accuse the entire healthcare community of being Nazi scientists trying to murder everyone with an experimental drug and then wonder why psychopaths are attacking doctors and pharmacists.

to be fair, yes I agree

and the most anti vax attitudes in my family were from one aunt and uncle who got the virus a year or so ago when he was anti vax and she went with it and they got pretty f***ed up and changed their minds afterward. They still have not fully recovered but the important thing is they are not anti vax anymore.

A husband and wife who recently did some landscaping work for my parents were your typical anti-vaxxers: fueled by misinformation, irrationally afraid of it, saw being anti-mask as a political protest, etc. My dad took the time to talk to them, get to the root of their fears, and change their minds. They've since gotten their shots. Meanwhile, whenever I happened be around those people, I avoided them like the lepers I thought they were. Pretty hard for me to look back on that situation and not feel like a total coward.

There are plenty of people who are too far gone to be reasoned with (the subject of this topic, for instance), and there's practically zero chance of changing anyone's mind by interacting with them online. But there are still plenty of people out there irl who can be brought around to reason if you treat them as exactly what they are: scared and confused. And that's what still gives me hope for the coming year. The vast majority of people don't like living in a constant state of agitation and uncertainty, and eventually getting vaccinated will reveal itself to be the only path towards things genuinely returning to normal. The rebellious allure of being anti-vaxx will eventually fade, and so will its influence. Hardcore anti-vaxxers will maintain their stance right up to the grave, but eventually their influence will fade as well; it will never disappear entirely - these types of evils never do - but it will fade to the point of no longer having a strong foothold on the political landscape. The pundits and politicians who pushed it will wash their hands of it and try to claim they never supported it, and the embarrassed masses who fell victim to it will be just as eager to forget they were ever part of it.

Isnt the point of door to door vaccination this? Also people who are scared and confused, why are they not talking to their doctor? Sure there are crazy stupid doctors out there, but more often than not, they should have a decent family doctor that will explain all they need.
