"If the special was truly harmful to a particular group then that means I was wrong for laughing at the special, and that I will be judged for this by someone." "I will begin by assuming I'm not wrong, and then start my argument from there." And usually that will lead to: Trying to claim that the words were not harmful (despite being in no position to declare that) Trying to mitigate by saying that other words said by the same person are equally as harmful Or declaring "Because I'm not wrong, that means you must be wrong" and work on the complainers as the problem.
