Saying Pam was a cheater, because Jim kissed her?

Roy was a seriously abusive manchild who openly flirted with other women, neglected Pam, humiliated her in public, crushed her dreams, and denied her very simple, normal things that are expected in healthy relationships.

Pam owed nothing to Roy, and she deserved to escape that trash.

And I know someone will try to bring some weird purity angle into this, and I will still say that Pam needed a way out, and this was it,

Mild is putting it lightly. He constantly humiliated her in front of her coworkers, he forgot her at a sporting event, he put off the engagement for like what 5 years, always flirted with other girls, OPENLY AND WITH THE INTENT TO LET THE GIRLS KNOW, UNLIKE PAM, AND IN FRONT OF PAM.

I feel like the Roy defenders are always projecting.

Because she strung him along in a relationship she was still in solely due to apathy and laziness. He clearly cared about her a lot more than she cared about him even if he was a dick about it.

Neither Pam nor Roy are bad people, they're just a bad relationship.

Pam was clearly naive and inexperienced. She didnt string him along, either. She clearly wanted to marriage. Roy, if he cared about her, would have listened to her and not neglect her, insult her, humiliate her, have violent outbursts in front of her, flirt in front of her, etc.

Do people really think this? Roy was absolutely mentally abusive, he gaslit Pam many times, and in the end, even got violent. Pam gave him many chances. Her starting to lose feelings and gravitate towards someone who treated her better is the natural, real world consequence of treating people poorly.

She didn't string him along, she got complacent and probably kept trying to convince herself it would get better. It happens all the time IRL. Her only mistake was not truly talking to him about their relationship problems earlier.

Roy wasn't a purely evil abuser, but he was massively flawed. He only really tried when he was afraid of losing her, or trying to impress someone else like her mom. He wasn't a villain, just a schlub, but either way not someone Pam should have stayed with.

WTF at Pam stringing him along.

It was completely the other way around. She was depressed and he was being a douchebag to her. She always came crawling back when he would abandon her, forget about her, humiliate her, drink, flirt with other girls and make light of their engagement.

He was stringing Pam along and treating her like garbage. The show wasn't even subtle about it. That was literally the plot.

Unsurprising that Pegasus would be the one to demonize her and defend the jerk.

Pam was pretty bad too, tbh. She was a total failure and constantly made it other peoples problem. She couldnt hack it at art school in New York and she blamed everything and everyone but herself. She acted like she was better than everyone regardless of her situation. She strung Jim along forever, even after he admitted he loved her, and got upset when he started dating Karen. She makes out with Jim twice while shes engaged. When her parents get divorced, she blames Jim.

I dont like post-Karen Pam either, but she was not a failure. She was always insecure, and it showed, but she succeeded in small ways, and found true happiness in other areas.

Really seeing that people missed or misread these characters.
