It looks cool but what do you even do with it? Burn and kill things? Blacksmithing? Campfires? Cooking? You're sure not going to be sending rockets to to moon. Slash and burn agriculture can be useful short term but you'll attract the attention of eco-terrorists or something.

Earth is the least popular but it's by far the most useful. You can construct walls and buildings, dig wells and do mining, handle soil for crops. Don't be going around telling everybody but I hear chad earth wizards are loaded and get all the ladies.

Wind and water are also useful, don't get me wrong. It's just these pretentious wizards think playing with dirt is beneath them or something. Have a nice day.

You need quite a bit more than just electricity to build a robot army. Case in point: We've had electricity for 200 years and we don't have robot armies yet, and very much not because we don't have enough power available.

Fire is both protection and offense, sustenance and life. While you can obtain most things from nature that involve earth or water, and to some degree air, fire offers many things that are not as simply and are extremely useful.

Cooking isn't a small thing, neither is heat in a blizzard, light is life sometimes in the absolute dark, fire can save your life in many ways.

Water can be useful, it can certainly save you from dying of thirst, it can heal (along with earth) and it can be used as a defense as well (especially against fire). All of the elements have their uses, but fire is often the most offensive (easiest to destroy large areas with, and has many utilities when used intelligently.

Without fire, there is no life, without light, everyone is blind, without heat the universe freezes. Combining multiple elements generally leads to the strongest spells, but fire is almost ALWAYS a major component in the strongest spells. Earth and water create......mud......earth and air, a sandstorm, fire and earth can make the strongest armor, fire and water can make explosions, fire and air can make firestorms. Fire by itself is powerful, but when combined, you get the most powerful spells possible.

Depends on the magic system. You can certainly create light with fire magic, but light magic also sometimes falls under the umbrella of holy magic (or light magic/dark magic), so it really depends if your dealing with a pure elemental system or not.

If it's a pure elemental system then yes, your source of light comes from fire, same with warmth etc (although if elements can be combined you will have earth spells etc that warm you etc).

Fire is the least common element in nature (unless you count magma etc inside the earth), yet the most powerful element when used correctly.
