My family is mostly First Nations and they didnt help me move shit.

But I have hired movers once and it was fine. Ive had problems getting furniture delivered though.

My gf wanted to hire movers for our last move. We packed everything beforehand, but there's an option to have them pack for you (additional cost of course). They charged by the hour. You had the choice of paying for 2 movers or paying for 3 as well. They showed up, loaded everything, and then took it to the new house. I feel like 3 wasn't very effective honestly.

I've paid a bunch of times it's a lot easier than doing it myself.

Basically you tell them how much shit you have and they come and wrap the furniture and move all your stuff then unwrap it when you get there.

The ones I use have a discount for paying cash so I just give it all to them at the end with tips.

We considered it several times. But the prices were nuts. When my cousin moved the government paid for movers (works at the Post Office and it was forced relocation.)

Ultimately we were lucky enough to have help and saved like $1,300. I expect peoples experiences will vary wildly since its just random dudes doing the moving. Most people seem to have good experience with installers, but every one Ive had has screwed up my house in some way.
