They said outside of Gamefaqs, online forums are now going the way of guides with the rise of discord and reddit to build a community for gamers. This sale however just reinforces the dying forum webspace and why this sale of the online forum could be the beginning of the end ResetEra which was a forum rebrand of NeoGAF that was used by several prominent members of the gaming industry such as Jeff Bell from Microsoft, was one of the first forums where users could create accounts and make topics to discuss gaming news and other off topic discussions. Many of the members will brush up against more conservative members of the gaming community as neo-puritan and social justice bullies before they made their safe space on the internet Despite this, the forums remained a valuable resource for those interested in gaming news at least MOBAFire bought ResetEra who are informing users that they would join the new website and overall it seems as though the community is mostly positive on the news and MOBA Network sees this acquisition as a useful community resource for discussing video game news while allowing them to moderate itself independently. While that is good news for many, it will be interesting to see what if the new owners will do in the future if the community starts to diminish as it has in many other gaming forum communities such as IGN and Gamespot.
