I don't think gaming has had a disaster on par with the Fyre Festival yet. Cyberpunk certainly wasn't bad enough to qualify and NMS had a redemption tale.

I still want to say cyberpunk.

APB comes to mind. It was one of the most expensive games ever at release. It was intended to be an MMO version of GTA Online years before the GTA series actually went online..... and the company went bankrupt less than 2 months after it launched and the servers shut down shortly after for a time while they sorted out the whole bankruptcy situation.
