The worst part is that this game had 2 chances to come over to the US >_> 1st it was mentioned in a Saturn magazine, but for whatever reason localization plans fell through and the game never came out here

Then Atlus wanted to bring over the PSP version to the states, but Sony of America didn't allow it because the game didn't have enough new content (?????????????) so they didn't want to waste resources on it. Da fuck that shit

From what I've seen, the game has a good atmosphere >_> It's so weird that Soul Hackers, the sequel to Devil Summoner which references characters and events from the previous game, came out but the original game didn't lol. There is no official and no fan translation at all. You can only play it by reading a script online as you go through it, but it's still missing stuff like demon negotiations and names of items.

If you want to know the story, this guy did a funny/chill video on the entire plot as he played through it. He does other obscure SMT games too. I definitely recommend the channel if you like that stuff <_<

Otherwise no one talks about it ever lol. I just really love Soul Hackers and I wish Devil Summoner got the same love so that we could play it. /blogfaqs

For what its worth, its already been localized on the ps1. But Im in the same boat as you, I dont want to jump from a PSP game to a ps1 game for the sequel lol

It's pretty good, but I would need to play it again to see how it holds up. I have it on Saturn and PSP. I like the sequel more.

Japanese ones are usually pretty cheap. Snagged that one for a smooth $10
