For me I had to get declined by Medicare twice and then I was able to get financial aid from the hospital to do mine. I can't remember how long it took to get it going. I think once they figured out it was pretty rough skin cancer they went at it like 2 days later. I basically just walked in, gave them the secret handshake, and they wrote me up a referral. I have pretty good insurance, so hopefully it won't cost me too much out of pocket, but I haven't figured out the actual cost yet since I haven't actually met with the surgeon and whatnot yet.
