What if dey are told by some lame religious bigot saying lgbt is bad? I think da parent should tell dem its a normal and good thing before dey get influenced by bad people

I don't think they necessarily have to go too depth into it at a young age, but definitely give some basics, about how so some people can have feelings for the same gender, how some people might feel like they identify differently than how they were born, etc. in child friendly ways, since growing up feeling that you're "different" can lead to a lot of heartbreak

Kids in my elementary school started calling people they didn't like gay when we were 9. So maybe they should teach kids about it a little earlier than that

I've taught my niece and nephews about gay folks.

Like, just being kids, they'll joke "well you get a BOYfriend!" To one of the boys

I tried to teach them that there's nothing wrong with that. That some people just like the same sex and some don't

Oh this was when they were 8 or 9
