On Ch14. Just found out that Ichiban is Arakawa's son and Ryo is actually Sawashiro's son. It just felt too...forced coincidental? Like some Star Wars Sequel Trilogy stuff.

Dope game so far tho.

yea, that twist was so dumb, it really annoyed me.

there was nothing to even suggest that Ichiban was found in a locker, only that he was abandoned, iirc.

then we find out he was right next to Ryo, smh.

miss me with that bullshit.

Yeah. Literally right next to each other. The whole "intersecting destinies" thing.

Now I'm about to have hot sweaty Yakuza fist sex with Kazuma Kiryu

This is a bit random and slightly spoilery but as I haven't gone through the series yet, is there a character in the series that uses Minoru Suzuki's likeness/face?

Feel like he has the perfect face for a Yakuza game lol. I think I remember hearing Okada and Naito are in one of the games

Tbh I dug that twist. I thought that was a really neat moment tying things up from the beginning, though obviously the series requires you suspending your disbelief.

Yeah LADs plot gets exceptionally dumb even for a Yakuza game, but I think the emotional moments end up selling it even though the narrative is extra shaky at points. Its hard not to like Ichiban
Yeah he's a very lovable goof. Tbh I was kinda shaky to get into the game because the cast looked kinda goofy. Fat old cop Adachi and Hobo Nanba, and Ichiban not looking as...cool/refined as Kazuma Kiryu did. Tho I did dig his hair in the first chapter lol. But everyone quickly grew on me.

Finished the game. Loved it. I had an inkling with how they were gonna expose Aoki but the one detail I didn't pick up on was using Mirror Face to help out lol. Ending was sad and at the very least they held back on the whole who's dad is really who's. Even Nanba suggesting a DNA test but Ichiban being like that doesn't really matter. Dude was a great loveable MC

Okay one thing that bothered me slightly I guess

The Young Master (Misato? Or was that his "dad"? I get their names confused) was technically never a Yakuza and always acted kind of above the . Even tho his dad was the head of various Yakuza families/factions. I guess you aren't ever automatically in the Yakuza unless you actually pledge?

yea, something like that, from what I've seen in the games and other fiction.

you have to actively want to be a yakuza, and the head of a family has to accept you, but I imagine that there are some politics attached to that.

but anyway, you wouldn't just be a member of the yakuza just because of who your father was.
