He said this to me as he could barely breathe and needed to be intubated

So I asked him based off of his beliefs if he wanted me to discharge him home to die

He said no

So I intubated him and put him in the ICU

He was on bipap with RR in the mid 40's and could still barely speak, ferritin/procal ratio off the charts and overall looked like ass

Seen enough of these people to guess who dies on a vent and who doesn't, and he's gonna die on a vent regardless of what anyone does

Do you have other armchair advice you're unqualified to give?

fyi there's no "healing" some people. That dude, no matter what we do, is gonna die. Being on a ventilator slows the process for a painful week or so. His CT looked like a Jackson Pollock painting with maybe 5-10 good alveoli left

nope i am involved just like u but at the end of the day you are supposed to be there to help them. that is what u signed up to do. i have my own opinions and believe he should have been vaccinated but it that is neither here nor there. based on what u have said, it sounds like u do not have any empathy for your patients which is a red flag
