Too much like a tourist trap/Disney. Usually you kind of expect a museum or specific thing to be the trap but with Venice it felt like the entire place and you couldnt escape it until you left. If you go to Paris or Rome you can kind of get an idea of what culture or life is like for people that live there. No such feeling with Venice. We all took over the pool and just chilled all week. The worst part is my wife got really sick for literally a day and at the time we had an insurance lap from getting married. So they took her to the best Cancun hospital and wanted 5 grand US just to get in and get a bed. I said fuck that and we went to the public hospital. Straight shit hole with literal bodies of injured people littered everywhere. Probably because my wife is white they expedited her in. it was a lot easier since Im mexican. She stayed overnight and got released. Cost me 20 dollars us long story short. You can easily travel out the resort Its the same as the US. Dont be in the bad areas asking for hard drugs or guns. Within our first week of moving here 5 separate people told us about a donut place. Apparently people travel from out of state for their donuts. They have some of the worst donuts I've ever had. I'd take Krispy Kreme donuts over these.
