It's insane watching so many people I usually respect the perspective of falling into a fantasy world and using terms like "Post-covid". It's gaslighting people who don't wanna take covid serious anymore because they're "over it" mentally.

My country is basically just starting to really step into covid times. We've mostly been life as normal (except no international travel) since June last year, with a few short interruptions, until August this year when Delta got here and the usual strategy utterly failed and now we're having to quickly shift to actually dealing with ongoing local transmission rather than short-term outbreaks that get stamped out (and the government was utterly unprepared for this, they seemed to be assuming they could just keep stamping out outbreaks until we got to the point where vaccine coverage - also something they were dragging their feet on until recently - was good enough we could mostly drop restrictions).

I live in Houston and there's almost 0 precautions anywhere. Some concert venues are requiring either vax or test, but not many.
