pretty pathetic on blizzards part

i bet NPCs will still spit on you in the death knight starter quest

some other emote will replace those as the one to insult people who buy store mounts so this doesnt change anything

I'd have canceled my sub in 2020 if not for classic. Shadowlands is the first expansion in wow's history that I have no intentions of ever reaching level cap for.

I've been playing without a subscription lapse since launch day in 2004. It's a terrible game, now.

IIRC, the emotes still work, you just can't target them anymore. They'll always be <your character> farted instead of <your character> farted on <other character>. It's to remove any lond of skeeviness with them.

Though spit was removed in some way a while back because someone created an addon or classic that automatically made your character spit on anyone who bought a level boost so.

As I recall, you can still do those emotes, you just can't do them at other players now.

So, you can't /spit on a dirty greenskin you just wrecked in pvp anymore.

I heard they also removed a lot of the /flirt emotes too.

People used those emotes directed at people whenever they saw them riding a cash shop mount. The idea is that the cash shop, even cosmetics, are ruining the game (they are). People buy the mounts because they look cool and it makes them feel good, so to try and protect the game they want people to stop buying cash shop items period. So the idea is to make people feel bad when they are seen with a cash shop item. Its a good idea in theory but Blizzard wants their money so thats why they are banning the emotes. It wont work because people will just use some other emote

any of the /flirt removal is due to the company wanting to be seen as politically correct, mostly due to them being found out for their rampant sexual abuse internally that even caused a woman to kill herself
