Thor 2: This was the first MCU movie of real consequence ~~with the death of Frigg and the associated emotional stakes. Captain America technically happened first but we all knew Bucky was going to be back.~~ The characterization of Loki was the strongest point of the movie. Thor 1 and subsequently Avengers painted him as 1 dimensional filled mostly with jealousy and envy. Thor 2 flipped that around completely and gave him real depth and made him feel more like a real person. The action sequences felt dynamic and gritty and there was a lot more of them. The biggest complaint I had with Thor 1 was how boring the movie was as most of the fighting happened in the beginning with the Giants. Thor 2 addressed that. By comparison Thor 3: Flanderized Loki not entirely unlike what they did to Finn in Star Wars. His behavior in the beginning of the third movie also directly contradicts him at the end of the second movie and essentially completely dropped the hanging plot thread of Loki impersonating Odin. The action was mostly slapstick comedy. Everything from that stupid shit Valkyrie stuck in Thor's neck to the hulk fights was treated like a joke and that rock dude only served to completely devalue any seriousness of the movie. It feels like a bait and switch comedy movie after watching the first two. I'd also like to add that the plot of the movie itself is stupid.
