One of the cool things about the Jurassic Park tour I did here in Hawaii was the tour guide talked about some of the lore of Oahu. About how Kualoa mountain was a huge lizard guardian that did battle with a Goddess during her journey for three days until she cut off its tail and cast it into the ocean where it became a lone island.

I love shit like that and feel like it's really untapped.

I'd like to see Mayan/Aztec lore used more personally. Straight up metal shit in there.

I just want to see more games based on underused mythologies in general.

I agree. While I love Greek/Norse mythology, I'd like to explore others. Even stuff like Japanese, they only ever use Orochi or the nine tailed fox in a lot of stuff. Would like to see more rep from Tsukuyomi, Susanoo, Amaterasu, etc.

Tsukuyomi, Susanoo, Amaterasu, etc.
I almost only recognise these names from Blazblue

And in general do you mean direct references to them or just sorta heavily inspired by them?

There was Okami. I think Japanese games tend to have Japanese mythology covered so I don't count them as underrepresented. Not like Mesoamerican mythology.

We only did Diamond Head, Manoa Falls and Koko Head. So I don't think so ;(

Direct reference. Like they're actually in the story or bosses/NPCs or something like how God of War does.

Okami and Nioh were pretty neat in their use of Japanese mythology/folklore. I called a couple of bosses in Nioh 1 & 2 before their name showed up because I'm a weeb, but while I'm on that topic I REALLY like how they used Izanami in Nioh 2.

Yeah, Final Fantasy and Persona have also done some with it, particularly Persona 4, but I think Nioh is the best for Japanese mythology.

Yeah I enjoyed how the Nioh series used a lot of the Japanese mythology/lore.
