On one hand, Rittenhouse clearly had been effected by right wing propaganda about protests and rioting. It's clearly only gotten worse as he now likes the Proud Boys, presumably because they support him, because this has been stupidly politicized.. He also should not have gotten someone to buy him that gun and hand it to him.

On the other hand, Rosenbaum is on footage ambushing him, after previously saying he would murder them if he caught them alone.
Then Rittenhouse was chased by an angry mob and only shot those attacking him or trying to shoot him. (Turns out the gun on the guy trying to shoot him was also illegal, in that the guy's license was expired.)

Really dumb situation, with dumb or unfortunate people all around.

People don't want equal application of justice.

the trial isnt going the way many people here had hoped. And all the evidence being laid out on the table and the premier witness admitting under oath that Rittenhouse fired when a gun was aimed at him doesnt help prosecution.

You can really dislike Rittenhouse and say he shouldnt have been there, that hes a stupid fat baby - but the facts are, in this particular event, that it was self defense. That he acted within the states definition of what self defense is.

They also want to protect the narrative. This was a BLM riot, the narrative is that BLM never riots, and any rioters are secretly white supremacists trying to sabotage BLM. They want to make it seem like the aggressors were simply peaceful protestors, because they know what it means otherwise. This trial is important as a result.

They lose so much ground that they've gotten if it comes out that Kyle was attacked because it would give a solid reason to not trust the mainstream media, since the media was specifically saying that Kyle was a murderer and the "victims" didn't do anything wrong.

@RustyFerret This should be said to you as well. This isn't a simple trial, this isn't a trial that simply hit the news, and there's a chance the prosecution knows it. There are massive implications if Kyle is found not guilty and the "victims" were the aggressors, narrative wise.

They think that the aggressors are "victims" who were simply "protesting". They know why they think he's guilty, and any evidence that would show otherwise has to be false or they have to pretend it doesn't exist.

Refusing to accept evidence in favor of trying to force facts to fit your beliefs, and refusing to admit you're wrong is unironically exactly what the left says the right does. This is proof that it's projection or that the left is no better, and that voting third party is the right thing to do.

That isn't being biased, it is called being a good judge. Calling the people "victims" implies guilt, when you are innocent until proven guilty.
