OotP isnt really bad, just my least favorite. PoA has been my favorite for ages, and the only thing that really goes against it is a lack of tension once you know the twist, but its still so good. >_>

I feel like this is why it might be my least favorite. When I was a dumb kid, my parents bought me GoF before PoA and I read it.

HBP is my favorite. I like the more typical teenage stuff, as well as all the Voldy backstory. Kind of surprised to see SS and CoS above any others. Not that they're bad, I just think the rest are a cut above. I do also really like OotP, but it can be kind of a slog, especially with how moody Harry is all book.

How old were you when you finished Deathly Hallows? I remember reading it all through in like a day, basically skimming through the whole thing. I felt like I go nothing out of it.

Ive read somewhere that it's more of a coming of age book, was it any different when you read it when you were older?

I was somewhere around 19 when DH came out. I was lucky enough to be able to read the series as I grew up close to Harry's age. I definitely appreciate it now more that Im older, but imo the book just isnt really that great until they get to Malfoy Manor. Granted, I love the whole thing from that point on, but for me its very much the book version of "yeah this RPG gets really good after the first 20 hours" >_>

The main reason I still place the first two higher than others is that theyre pretty short, and still perfectly enjoyable. My main gripes with the backhalf of the series is the pacing. Only HBP really justifies its length imo. Its like a Hogwarts slice of life anime lol.
