The idea sounds great on paper but the cynical side of me thinks that the protagonist is going to be OP to the point where it comes off as corporate wokeness. Still, a much, much better idea than "modern dudes in the jungle" being played out.

The fact that they specified that the protagonist is Comanche is a decent way of justifying how OP she could be.

Almost guaranteed. It kind of kills the reputation of the predators when they get their assess kicked every time they show up in our history.

It was cool when a trained military unit barely managed to scrape out a win using every survival tool and tactic available. Much less cool when a random cop in NYC does it.

Even less cool when Adrian Brody does it.

It's 300 years earlier. The predator should also be less advanced than the ones we've seen before.

This is pretty much how I feel. Like, maybe the writers can come up with a really compelling way to make this work, but it's going to be a really tough pill to swallow that a predator, even 300 years ago, is going to lose to random native American warrior. They have interstellar travel. She has arrows and an axe. This is a race that's supposed to be able to stand toe-to-toe with a xenomorph.

If the predator is a literal child and this is their first hunt, the sort of "training wheels" equivalent of one, then maybe. Or if the predator crash-lands and is critically injured the entire time. But if this is just a regular, healthy predator, then it's going to be complete nonsense.

I think the reason Lane is good is because they were making an actual movie and then at the end slapped the Cloverfield name on it for marketing purposes or whatever, whereas Paradox built itself around the IP.

Only issue with Lane was it should have ended 10 minutes earlier when she left the bunker and saw there were actually aliens. The rest served no purpose for the themes and narrative thread of the movie.

This is what I was hoping for when I read the topic title. It would be an awesome tie-in to Predator 2 and the "1715 Raphael Adolini" musket the Predator gives Danny Glover.

The story that was written based on that would make for a fun movie plot, IMO.

Basically, the Predator encounters a group of pirates in the early 18th century. The lead pirate, Raphael Adolini, is dealing with a mutiny by men on his ship. The Predator helps him fight off the mutineers, and then in the midst of their clash against each other, a mutineer who survived shoots Adolini like a coward. The Predator kills that mutineer, and as Adolini lay dying, he hands the Predator his musket, saying "Take it," in a show of mutual respect.

Hence, nearly 3 centuries later, that same Predator repeats "Take it" to Danny Glover after the latter earned his respect.

I don't really understand what makes you think that when in the very first movie, the Predator is beaten solely with traps and primitive weapons.

The first one is one of the best action movies of all time. The second one is solid, but not anywhere close to being as good as the first. The third one is pretty generic. And the fourth one is awful. So almost everyone agrees on there being at least one good movie in the series.
