Do you support relying less on fossil fuels and more on green energy to save the environment?

69% of Canadians polled SUPPORT Justin Trudeau's climate change plan after he made multiple policy announcements at COP26 climate summit.

He said he wants to cap and reduce pollution from the oil and gas sector twoard net zero by 2050 and to support a new policy to stop exporting coal by 2030, a move that would end trade abroad of about 36 million tonnes of the resource, currently 60% of what the country produces

60% also support halting subsidies that assist and oil and natural gas companies to run and grow their operations outside the country by the end of 2022

Despite most agreeing with this, Alberta and Saskatchewan which are fossil fuel producing regions tend to agree less on this since it directly affects their economies

People in vote rich Quebec, British Columbia however agree with this to reduce production and pollution as they are reducing the use of fossil fuels already.

3/4 of Canadians however say there is still time to put measures in place to stop climate change, a rate that is on part of Americans who answered the same question

Canada's new greenpeace activist environment minister however has split respondents as people are unsure what kind of changes he will make as the opinion is still out there

Do you support relying less on fossil fuels and more on green energy?

Maybe the moron should have decided to do this before he spent billions buying an oil pipeline.

In theory I agree, doesn't mean I'll agree with whatever policy he proposes

He said reduce from the sector, not from the product, i.e. spend less time burning excess, run more efficiently. Oil is and will be a valuable material for a long time.

I'm all for reducing oil consumption but I wouldn't trust Trudeau to create a strategy for anything.

Moving to electric things is a good thing, but make sure itll work first. Electric chainsaws take forever just to cut through a three inch branch. Most electric lawnmowers seem like they are afraid of grass taller than one inch! Yes, you might be able to run generators on natural gas when power goes out, but the only place that might be cheaper than gasoline powered in North America is California.

What lol

Maybe if the grass is wet? I've used an electric lawnmower for over 15 years and have never had an issue.

Maybe ours has mental issues. It has a smaller battery compared to our leaf blower which is the same brand. That is a very powerful leaf blower.

Could be because it's a battery one. Mine is corded.
