Secured mine a few days ago at first attempt, and I'm in the UK. I just followed a Stock Checker on Twitter which alerted me when stock went live. Not sure if I was lucky or not, but it seems that if you're determined it shouldn't be too much of an issue

Maybe it's harder in Japan idk. A lot of places do lottery type things for the right to buy one when stock comes in, and I've entered a countless number of them and haven't won yet.
