The Korean restaurant I worked at closed initially, then reopened, and then closed for good in March of this year.

The only stores that didnt temporarily shut here (Central valley town in Cali) were all the big name ones.. I found it odd that those stores have book sections but book stores themselves had to close

All restaurants closed, didnt matter if it was Dennys or some Mom 'n Pop place, and eventually they only offered Take Away then slowly expanded outdoors.. then shut completely again, then reopened again..

As for permanent closures, the only victim here was a Sonic burger (that became a Starbucks)

All the restaurants that were in risk of being completely done that we kept hearing about over the past year (Dennys, Applebees, iHop..) are still around

I was going to say that the Chinese buffet that I loved closed because of COVID, but I think it might have actually been about six months before.

My favorite Ramen shop closed down due too Covid, but it was a perfect storm for them. They were open for a ridiculous amount of years(I know it was over 35) For the first time they closed for remodel, for about 5 months and then Covid happened. If they didn't close for remodel they might have been able to make it, but they couldn't really do what they were known for(huge bowls of ramen) as take out and so since it lined up so well they had to close for good.

The Cheesecake Cafe in Medicine Hat closed, and I think it was because of COVID. My birthday routine for years was to go there, they'd give you a massive piece of cheesecake for free.
