I just started and know basically nothing of the game as ive never been interested but dying seems intended or at least it feels like get up and try again.

I was playing way to defensively too. I was having a lil trouble with the first boss but i didnt realize he doesnt have much or any invincibility time so just dodge some and go a little ham on him. His oroboros dragon goo seemed a little intimidating at first.
