Why would I actively choose to listen to bad music

some of it was not-great stuff I was recommended and gave a chance to for one reason or another, but selection bias means most of it is good at worst imo

I didn't check out the list, but Circa Survive just released a new EP about a month ago (A dream about love)

Also, it looks like 10000 gecs will be dropping this year. Hopefully soon

If you like overly aggressive trap metal, Scarlxrd released an EP AND and album this year. He also collabed with Ghostemane on another EP.

Also Ghostemane has a new EP too (Fear Network II)

also damn how did I miss that Black Sites album. I regularly check Angry Metal Guy for their best reviewed albums and they got an extremely rare 4.5/5 for that album

Not sure Im feeling this. Vocals are kind of like a weaker version of coheed & cambria (who I love) and the music sounds like heavier Umphreys McGee jams (who I also love) with horns but it doesnt quite gel imo

Anyway as for recs, I always recommend The Warning since they seem to get no recognition by the music media probably because they are an all female rock band and from Mexico so everyone just ignores them over a bunch of random fucking nobody guys from America. Their new EP Mayday just came out last month. They also had the best song on the Blacklist I would say.

I listened to like a quarter of the blacklistjust the artists I was interested in hearing covers from. Some real interesting choices there

its definitely not an album meant to be listened all the way through who wants ten versions of some shitty Black Album song in a row lmao

i think Ive checked out some of their music before and is was enjoyable enough, but I have an inherent distrust of radio popular rock bands these days because it just seems like only super generic acts get anointed worthy of radio play and its insulting to the myriad great unknown acts out there

Well the Blacklist isn't just straight covers. Metallica specifically told people to reimagine thee song and do whatever they wanted. They were actually specifically told if you just want to do a cover then don't bother. That's why I like the Aliessa Cara and The Warning version of Enter Sandman. It makes it more like an actual lullaby that the song is written as.
