Currently he's playing MSFS 2020 on a laptop that isn't cutting it for him, so I figured he could do with something better. I have a 1660 Ti and a 1080p 60hz monitor that I'll give him. Not the best, but it'll do until we eventually find better stuff.

I'm not sure about the CPU/mobo combo since I don't have much familiarity with Intel. I doubt he'd be overclocking, so I have a non-k-series CPU, and I gather that B560 boards are preferred for those.

Cheaper cooler, more expensive PSU, maybe 850w, what I would do.

Hmm, the white Freezer 34 Esports would probably look good with the mobo and should still be sufficient.

I can bump the PSU to 750w, but I'm not sure it needs to go any higher than that. I'm currently running a Ryzen 5 3600 and 3060 Ti fine on a 650w PSU.

Let's say $1000. I'm not really focusing too much on the money as long as it's not something outrageous like a $400 motherboard.
