You don't see Frank bragging about money and buying expensive things like in Goodfellas. You don't see him hanging out in swanky nightclubs, restaurants, and casinos wearing super nice suits like in Casino. Nobody is really that happy in The Irishman. Frank is cold towards his family resulting in ~~his daughters being scared of him and not having much or anything at all to do with him.~~ Russell has no kids and ~~tries to win over Peggy's affection, but never does.~~ Jimmy has constant problems and never gets his union back and is killed by a close friend of his. Everyone ends up being murdered or in jail withering away pathetically. Frank is totally alone and forgotten in his nursing home at the end.
