After inflating my tires to a proper load, my cars now asks me to service my tire monitors. I think Im done buying used cars. Honestly wish I didnt sell my used 09 SL500 because I never had a single issue in 5 years time and over 100k.

The tire pressure monitoring is shit on like every vehicle from what I can tell.

Yeah, mine is messed up too. I just check the pressure myself every other week with a cheap tire gauge I got from AutoZone.

My tire pressure system was really nice on my Malibu. It's a Direct TPMS, so it had a diagram of the car the immediate pressure for each individual tire. Upgraded to a Honda CR-V last month, and it uses Indirect so now I'll be stuck guessing which tire is flat if it gets low.

I never had problems with the ones in my Chevy Colorado in the five years I owned it. My parents and brother also have GM vehicles (another Chevy, a GMC, and a Buick) and they haven't said they've had problems with theirs either.

Plus if you go to a tire shop and they do a rotation, or put new tires on, I always had a TPM go out very shortly after.
