Gravitational force gets much more powerful the closer you get to the other interacting body, so it's constantly accelerating as it gets closer to its periapsis (closest point in its orbit). This acceleration essentially allows it to slingshot around the sun and make that big ass orbit, until it finally decelerates enough to get pulled back in by the sun after hitting its apoapsis (farthest point in orbit)

This is simplifying things a lot by assuming a 2 body system but it's good enough

The hypothesis is that there is an unseen massive object within our Solar System that is the cause of many TNOs like Senda having such elliptical orbits around the Sun.

Please don't talk about Sedna like that: it's just extremely eccentric.

How could a planet that large be hidden for so long?

If it exists, it's so far away that it reflects very little, if any, of the Sun's light.

Mostly this.

Sedna looks like it may orbit beyond the heliopause, which is very interesting.

It's Wiki article says that it does indeed:
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/90377_Sedna

For nearly all of its orbit, Sedna is even farther from the Sun than at present: its orbit is one of the largest in the Solar System other than those of long-period comets, with its aphelion estimated at 937 AU. 937 AU is 31 times Neptune's distance, 1.5% of a light-year (or 5.5 light-days) and well beyond the closest portion of the heliopause, which defines the boundary of interstellar space.

so it's like how they slingshot around the moon in Armageddon

There could be a black hole inside your left kidney. It just wouldn't last very long.

Infinite density happens constantly, within every atom within everything. It just makes black holes when it can't dissolve itself quickly.

I feel like that's kind of fanciful language that helps nobody understand anything.

Plainly speaking, it's wrong. I think the lowest mass stars are something like 75x times the mass of Jupiter. 1/75th of the required mass for stardom is not "a star that failed" like Carl Sagan put it.

It's probably Planet X.

This is why the Fermi Paradox isn't that strong of an argument. We can't even confirm shit in our own solar system.

Pluto has not.

Jupiter hasn't, either.
