Sometimes things turn out for the better, you never know making a cross continent move is not an easy or fun task, regardless.

been to a couple countries for a few months back in undergrad and that was somewhat stressful. Id absolutely do it again though
That's true, aside from feeling a nding job from the get go in first place, it could have been worth thr experience though
Which countries have you been before?

Definitely would be ideal to have a job lined up, unless youre like staying with a gf/friend/family etc who can support you while you look

I have been to Canada, England, Scotland, and Pakistan. Been to a handful of U.S. states as well, theres some really nice scenery in national parks. :)
Yes, i have a close friend in TX, where i could have stayed but couldn't accept being a burden like that
Out of all places pakistan is quite interesting tbh, especially food wise lol

I have heard that turkish is really difficult to learn.

Ive been wanting to learn more languages for a while now. Im interested in German, Spanish, and Japanese but would happily try to learn any language. Also want to learn sign language. Hard to make time as a PhD student lol

Knew bits and pieces of Urdu years ago.
It definetly is, wouldn't recommend learning that language lol it's a clusterfuck and has a different structure than germanic and latin languages
With spanish and german you'd be good to go but, don't even bother with japanese.. It's most likely the hardest language to learn and barely possibly without actually studying it (this goes out to all you 'i watch alot of anime, i can speak a bit japanese'-people out there lol)
I'm seeing sign language more frequently in the past couple years, assuming it's more on demand and need than it was before
What's urdu again? :o

Urdu is spoken in Pakistan. If my understanding is correct, it is close ish to Hindi.
Sign language is kind of something I want to do to communicate with patients who use it, same w/ Spanish.

I could never officially translate for medical purposes (that is usually separate), but it would be nice to speak directly to patients to establish rapport as opposed to using translation services just to see how their day is going.
Ahh i see, sounded like an ancient language.
I'm pretty sure sign language would come quite handy and definetly a cool thing if one can pull it off! You could still start with the easy beginner part and expand if it's something you enjoy and works out!
